Without a doubt the best season Ello Ello has ever had, however there is still definitely more to come.
The early season was dominated by the Volta where Rudi Base went a place better than last season finishing 3rd and guaranteeing the team entry for Season 49. Basa will be back and hoping he can continue the progress.
Mid season was dominated by the (accidental) TF of Lincoln Hannity claiming two victories and a div 1 second place but quickly led into the season’s real peak with Iancu Raducioiu winning two stages on his way to defending the Valpa GC and taking the SC as well. The Valpa is again a major target this season with the hat trick being the target.
The end of the season was quiet, a few other riders got their chances but many were not taken meaning we just miss out on a top 50 finish overall.
Iancu Raducioiu - 510 points - 5 results - 4 victories
Almost a rinse-repeat of last season, helping out the team in the first half before competing in Valpa. After the close racing last season there was hope it would be a bit more clear cut but Clodoveo Vega pushed us all the way. Iancu was also lucky enough to leave with the SC. Also spent a few weeks in the Romanian jersey.
Lincoln Hannity - 470 - 3 - 2
An accidental TF trigger changed the entire complexion of Hannity’s season where he was intended to spend it all competing without a boost in form. A very accomplished season, with two victories and a div 1 podium finish means that Hannity is still very much a rider to beat.
Rudi Basa - 340 - 3
Despite the strong showing last season it still felt like Rudi came into the Volta under the radar. However he showed up again and this time finished on the podium can he do it again in S49? Rudi also picked up his first div 1 points in their CLTT race.
Anselmo Zubizarreta - 190 - 1 result
Only got 4 chances this season but scored at 3 of them marking a significant turn around from S48. Will be looking to have a crack at a few races this season.
Arpad Faltus - 190
A steal at 150k. Arpad showed that he can compete and picked up 190 points despite a lot of bad luck. Will be trying again for Sultan Ageng, a race that he should be well suited for and will likely be sharing the DH race captain role with Iancu during the season.
Gyenge Rubik - 50 - 1
A significant underperformance. Only got 5 captaincy chances but despite having TF for three only picked up points once. Will need to perform this season as he seems to be struggling right now.
Storm Jonsen - 30
Another accidental TF let Storm captain for the first time and he picked up a few points. May get another couple of chances this season.
Sadiq Chakraborty
No points but 3 top 9s in U23 races were his highlights.
Sylwester Pilarski
No real chances this season as other riders were always in better shape/better suited to races.
Daniel Sammut Castelletti
Sadly maxed and his one captaincy chance saw him just miss out on a top 9 after a crash. Undoubtedly has a future with the team but may not be till S50/S51.
Batbayar Zorigtbaatar
Another sign of EE’s commitment to improving is 130k Batbayar, a HLSP rider who will be looking to dominate the first half of the U23 calendar before taking his chances on the HLSP scene allowing the team to branch out into more races. A further sign of this is the imminent arrival of Gae Anamia to provide more talent in CL races and likely to be an occasional captain.
